Flooding has been reported in Tramore and other parts of Waterford following heavy rain overnight.

In Tramore, an employee at Atlantic Arcade and Casino told WLR that flooding was particularly bad at around 8.45am on Sunday morning.

They employee said conditions have since improved significantly, with the floodwater cleared and dry conditions returning as spells of sunshine moved over the area.

Reports and footage received by WLR also indicate localised flooding in Ferrybank and elsewhere across Waterford following the overnight rainfall.

Waterford was under a Status Orange rain warning on Sunday morning, with Met Éireann warning of very heavy thundery rain, flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

Motorists are being advised to take extra care on affected roads and to avoid driving through floodwater where its depth cannot be safely assessed.
