Five drivers are being penalised after being caught speeding in Waterford.

Gardaí from the Roads Policing Unit were conducting a speed detection checkpoint on the N25, which is a 100 kilometre-per-hour zone.

All five cars were travelling at 130 kilometres and above – with one clocked at 161 kilometres per hour.

Gardaí say fixed charge notices have been issued to them all.
