A hillside fire near Coumshingaun in the Comeragh Mountains remains active this morning.
In an update issued this morning, Waterford City and County Council says the situation was monitored overnight, and fire crews are again on site today.
The fire is burning across difficult and, in places, inaccessible terrain, a significant distance on foot from the nearest access points.
The local authority says the fire is likely to continue burning over the weekend. There is currently no risk to homes or other buildings.
Weather conditions, including wind direction, are being closely monitored.
Members of the public are again asked to avoid the Kilclooney and Coumshingaun area and are asked not to undertake the Coumshingaun Loop Walk while operations continue.
