Espresso restaurant has announced it is closing its doors with immediate effect.

In a message to customers, owners Claudio and Rachael said the decision had been a difficult one that they had been weighing up for some time.

They said the challenges facing the restaurant industry had ultimately made it impossible to continue operating.

The owners thanked customers who had supported the business over the years, including those who had celebrated special occasions, shared meals or simply called in for a chat.

They said many customers had been with Espresso from the beginning and had become friends and part of their extended family.

The message also paid tribute to the restaurant’s staff, past and present, thanking them for everything they had contributed to the business.

The owners said they were proud of what they had built together and would always be grateful for the support and kindness shown to them over the years.
