Demolition works have begun at the iconic Grand Hotel site in Tramore.

The prominent building has been idle for many years.

Ambitious plans were recently revealed for a 40 unit aparthotel at the site.

Despite demolition of part of the large building is taking place, developers Frisby say the aim is to work with the existing structure as much as possible.

WLR’s Kyle Butler this week visited the site to view the progress and speak to some locals about their memories of ‘The Grand’.
