WLR is looking for an energetic, creative and engaging Content Presenter to join our award-winning team.

Reporting to the Programme Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in WLR’s programming schedule and multi-platform content offering. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to create compelling local content and connect with audiences across radio, digital and social media.

The Role

  • Full-time position
  • Present three hours of live radio each weekday
  • Plan, produce and deliver engaging, entertaining and informative local content
  • Create compelling content across radio, digital and social media platforms
  • Work closely with the programming team on promotions, interviews, outside broadcasts and station initiatives
  • Represent WLR professionally at community events and outside broadcasts
  • Build audience engagement on-air and online through social media and other digital platforms.
  • Contribute ideas that keep WLR innovative, relevant and entertaining.

Responsibilities

  • Present a daily programme that is local, entertaining, informative and engaging for Waterford audiences.
  • Create compelling content including music features, interviews, local stories and live segments.
  • Engage listeners across social media and digital platforms before, during and after your programme.
  • Produce audio content using Adobe Audition and station playout systems.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across programming, news, sport and commercial teams.
  • Maintain high editorial and broadcasting standards while meeting compliance requirements.

About you.

  • A genuine passion for creativity, storytelling and local broadcasting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to entertain and connect with a wide audience.
  • A strong understanding of Waterford, its communities, events and people.
  • Experience using Adobe Audition and radio playout systems.
  • Social media and digital content creation experience is essential, including creating content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc…
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to work as part of a busy team.
