Medical Administrator required for Grantstown Medical Family Practice. They are seeking a friendly, organised, motivated, and enthusiastic individual to join their busy GP practice. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates interested in this position.

Hours: 25hrs per week with flexibility to provide additional cover for annual leave and sickness when required.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care and customer care while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and providing a professional and friendly first point of contact.
  • Answering telephone enquiries, and assisting patients with appointments and general queries.
  • Booking and managing appointments using the practice management system.
  • Processing referrals, prescriptions, correspondence, and medical records.
  • Scanning, filing, and maintaining accurate patient records in line with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
  • Supporting GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team with administrative tasks.
  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the reception and administration functions.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent IT skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering high standards of patient care.

Desirable

Previous reception or administration experience is desirable. Experience in a GP or healthcare setting and familiarity with practice management software (e.g., Socrates or Health One) would be an advantage, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
