The humble Irish Soda Bread is becoming trendy in Germany. According to the Irish Times’ German correspondent, ‘Sodabrot’ has overtaken sourdough to become Germany’s hottest pandemic recipe.

The weekly ‘Zeit’ magazine carries a recipe, which is a reproduction of a hand-written recipe from a West Cork goat-farmer! So we thought we’d ask Waterford well known chef and culinary lecturer in WIT Michael Quinn what his hand-written secret to great soda bread is.
