There was a busy afternoon of adult football action across Waterford on Sunday, with games played in the senior, premier intermediate, intermediate and junior championships.

In the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Co. Senior Football Championship, The Nire and Kilrossanty played out a close contest, with The Nire coming out on top on a scoreline of 1-14 to 2-11.

In Group B, Abbeyside-Ballinacourty defeated Roanmore by 0-15 to 1-7.

In the Cappoquin Logistics Premier Intermediate Football Championship, Micheál MacCraith recorded a 0-18 to 2-8 victory over Rathgormack in Group A.

There were also quarter-final victories in the Tony Kirwan Plant Hire Eastern Junior A Football Championship.

Dunhill defeated Erin’s Own 5-10 to 0-14, while Gaultier GAA Club edged out Ballyduff Lower by 3-14 to 3-13.

In the Tony Kirwan Plant Hire Eastern Junior B/C Football Championship, Mount Sion defeated Naomh Pol 5-9 to 0-2, while Gaultier GAA Club beat Butlerstown 4-18 to 1-5.

Rathgormack also advanced with a comprehensive 6-15 to 0-2 win over St Saviour’s.

In the Munster Sign & Print Western Board Intermediate Football Cup Division 1, Ballysaggart booked their place in the next round with a 2-13 to 3-5 victory over Stradbally.
