Villa FC produced an impressive performance at Connors Worklab Park as they cruised to a 5-0 victory over Newbridge Town.

Conor Coad’s side made the perfect start, opening the scoring after just seven minutes.

Conor Kilgannon got in behind the Newbridge Town defence before keeping his composure to find the net, giving Villa an early 1-0 lead.

Villa continued to control proceedings and doubled their advantage before the break.

Conor Whittle got his first of the afternoon after a Calum Flynn effort was saved, with the ball falling kindly to Whittle, who calmly finished to make it 2-0.

Newbridge Town struggled to create any real chances on target during the opening 45 minutes, with Villa taking a deserved two-goal lead into the interval.

Villa picked up where they left off after the restart and added a third goal just three minutes into the second half.

Ed O’Dwyer found the net to put Villa 3-0 ahead and leave Newbridge Town with a mountain to climb.

The fourth goal was arguably the pick of the afternoon.

James Kennedy, affectionately known as ‘Tyres’, produced a spectacular long-range effort from around 55 yards, catching Newbridge goalkeeper Mark O’Connor off his line.

The audacious effort found the back of the net to make it 4-0 and could well be a contender for goal of the season.

Villa continued to push for more and got their reward with the final attack of the game.

Conor Whittle completed his brace to make it 5-0 and round off a five-star performance from Villa FC.

The victory came in front of an impressive attendance of 991 at Connors Park.

The result also has a major impact on Group C, with CK United drawing 1-1 with UCC.

That result means Villa FC now sit top of Group C on their own.

It was a statement performance from Villa, with five different goals contributing to a comprehensive victory and a clean sheet to go with it.
