The All-Ireland Final between Kerry and Mayo is edging closer as both sides name their teams for this Sunday’s clash.

Defending champions Kerry are looking to win their 40th Sam Maguire Cup, and Jack O’Connor will be without captain Paul Geaney in the starting team, with the 35-year-old just recovering from an injury.

That knock kept him out of the semi-final win over Dublin, but he is well enough to be named among the substitutes. He is joined on the bench by goalkeeper Shane Ryan, who’s struggled for most of the season with a quad injury.

The starting 15 remains unchanged from that Dublin win, with O’Connor just tinkering with a few players, namely Paudie Clifford, moving him to a more inside role in the 13 shirt, with Sean O’Shea taking 11 and David Clifford moving centrally to 14.

Meanwhile, Mayo manager Andy Moran has made one change from the side that smashed Louth in the All-Ireland semi-final, with Conor Loftus returning to the starting side after impressive cameos off the bench against Cork and Louth, with Paul Towey on the bench.

Kobe McDonald starts in what could be his last inter-county game for Mayo as the 18-year-old is set to move to Australia and join St Kilda in the AFL later this year. Aidan O’Shea is named on the bench as he looks to finally win the Sam Maguire at the eighth time of asking.
