The annual Run and Walk for Solas registrations have now reached a whopping 1,000 participants.
The run and walk with the Sea of Orange, takes place on Saturday October 10th in Dungarvan and on Sunday, October 11th in Waterford City.
All proceeds raised go directly to the Solas Cancer Support Centre ensuring all services and supports are kept entirely free for clients affected by cancer and their families.
Tracy McDaid, manager with the Solas Cancer Support Centre joined Ollie and Dymphna on air this morning to coincide with the week where t-shirts are being posted out to those who have registered.
Each participant who registers online receives the iconic orange t-shirt as well as an exclusive finishers medal.
Run and Walk for Solas Registration
Online registrations offer three different options- the Run and Walk for Solas in Dungarvan, the Run and Walk for Solas in Waterford City, and the Virtual option to be completed at a time and date which suits the participant.
Each location option then comes with a choice of Adult 10km Run or Walk, U18 Run or Walk, Adult 4km Walk and U18 4km Walk.
Cost is €25 for the run and walk for adults and U18 entries are €15 for the Run and Walk.
Stewards needed for Run and Walk for Solas
This year, a special call-out has been made for volunteer stewards to take part in assisting at the event.
At least 3,500 participants are expected for the two events across the two days and so, in the region of 200 stewards are needed to keep the event safe and running smoothly, with the assistance of Gardaí.
Friends who register for stewarding will be kept together in the same location, where possible.
