Listen: ‘Hosepipe ban’ for seven weeks in Waterford!

We've been lucky enough to have dry weather for the last three seasons, but increasing demand for water during the hot summer season has put a strain on supplies across the country.
Fionnuala Callery, Regional Technical Operations Manager for Water with Uisce Éireann spoke to Maria on 'Déise Today' this morning (Thursday) about the upcoming 'hosepipe' ban in County Waterford from this Saturday and what restrictions will be in place as a result.
The hosepipe ban is a legal measure under the Water Services Act enacted when there is pressure on water supplies around the country, prohibiting the use of water through a hose for watering your garden, cleaning your car, filling up domestic pools, and so on.
Waterford is set to fall under this ban alongside Tipperary, Wexford and other parts of the country from this Saturday until September 16th.
