Hugh Óg Mulhearne from Fews, Kilmacthomas claimed victory over the Easter Weekend, winning the Junior (U18) classification at the renowned 4-Day Rás Mumhan international stage race held in County Kerry.
He also placed 32nd overall in what was a significant achievement for the Transition Year student at St Declan's Community College who has this year moved part-time to France to focus on his cycling.
He spoke to WLR News and Sport Editor Kieran Foley and began by outlining some of the challenges he faced during last weekend's race.
