Following a community fundraising campaign, Garranbane National School has raised more than €15,000 for their new sensory room.

Located in a modular building adjacent to the main school building, the room will be a place for pupils to regulate and to receive sensory stimulation.

Due to a loophole in Department of Education funding, no assistance could be provided to the school as the sensory room was located in a modular building on the school grounds.

Garranbane NS embedded in the Community

Therefore, the school appealed to the community for assistance.

That support came in the form of individual donations from past pupils, families, local clubs, businesses, and more.

Tara Sheehan from Garranbane NS joined Ollie and Dymphna on air to provide an update on the funding and the plans for the room now that the target has been reached.
