Mary Fitzgerald (née Phelan), “Glendale” Gortnakeare, Tipperary Town and late of Cappagh, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford,

August 17th 2026, peacefully in the wonderful care of the ICU staff in South Tipperary General Hospital, Clonmel surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Agnes, her sister Ber, her brother Jim, brother-in-law Martin, niece Deborah and nephew Owen.

Deeply regretted, forever loved and missed by her husband Joe, heartbroken daughters Nessa and Jean, brothers Eamon, Micheál, Pat and Fran, sisters-in-law Judy, Anne, Marian, Mary, Joanne, Mary Foley and Margaret Walsh, brother-in-law Eamon, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends, neighbours and former colleagues of St. Joseph’s College, Borrisoleigh where she taught for 36 years.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at Whelan’s funeral home Bansha Road, Tipperary (E34 WD92) on Thursday evening 20th August from 5:30pm – 7pm

Requiem mass on Friday 21st August at 12 noon in St. Michael’s Church, Tipperary,

followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Tipperary Town
