
An Irish man, aged 20 years old, has died following a road traffic accident in Thailand.
The young man has been named locally as Max Hendrickson, from Cabra in Dublin.
A Czech woman, understood to be Mr Hendrickson’s partner, was also fatally injured in the accident.

RTÉ report that the Dublin native was an up-and-coming filmmaker.
In 2023, he was named Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year at the Fresh International Film Festival.
Labour TD Marie Sherlock told the public service broadcaster that the local community were devastated, and rallying around the family.

‘I have just become aware of this tragedy today my heart goes out to the family,’ she said.
‘I understand that he had an incredible future as a filmmaker ahead of him, and our thoughts are with the family.’
A statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed they were aware of the situation.
A spokesperson for the department told Extra.ie: ‘The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is aware of this case and is providing consular assistance.
‘As with all consular cases, the Department does not comment on the details of individual cases.’
