A new tourism trail showcasing Waterford’s whiskey, food and heritage is set to launch on Culture Night.

The Waterford Whiskey Trail has been developed by Visit Waterford and will take visitors through a number of locations across the city and county.

Designed as a two-day experience, the route will include stops in Waterford City, Ballyduff and Ardmore, with a focus on local distilling, hospitality and heritage.

The trail will begin in Waterford City, with stops including the House of Waterford, The Reg, O’Sullivan’s Vintage Social, Revolution Craft Beer & Whiskey Bar, Bodega and the Granville Hotel.

The second day will bring visitors into the county, beginning at Curraghmore Estate before continuing to Blackwater Distillery in Ballyduff and finishing at the Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore.

Visit Waterford says the trail is designed to be flexible and can also be experienced as a one-day city route.

Chairperson Clare Barrett said the trail aims to highlight the connection between Waterford’s heritage of craftsmanship and its growing whiskey offering.

She said: ‘Whiskey is a wonderful way to experience that story. It connects us to our land, our heritage and our people, but it also brings together the very best of Waterford’s hospitality and creativity.’

The Waterford Whiskey Trail will officially launch on Culture Night, with further details and suggested itineraries available through Visit Waterford.
