Several infrastructure and community projects are progressing across West Waterford, according to local councillor Donnchadh Mulcahy.

In Lismore, the Station Road footpath and public lighting project is expected to begin in the coming weeks, while West Street in Tallow is also due to be resurfaced.

Cllr Mulcahy says he has raised concerns about overgrown hedges and vegetation at several locations across the area, following the reopening of the hedge-cutting season.

He has also called for a long-term plan to improve footpaths and pedestrian safety in Affane and Parkdotia.

Meanwhile, Cllr Mulcahy welcomed recent developments in Lismore and Tallow, including the Lismore Town First event, the reopening of Centra Tallow following refurbishment and the opening of new gym facilities at Tallow GAA.

However, he has also raised concerns over ongoing water supply problems in the Melleray area, with some households left without water for more than five days.

Cllr Mulcahy says he has been logging individual cases with Uisce Éireann and is calling for improved communication with affected residents.

He has also urged people to report any faulty public street lighting as the evenings grow darker, saying he will log issues with Waterford City and County Council.
