Motorists using the Thomas Francis Meagher Bridge in Waterford will face higher toll charges from the beginning of 2027.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has confirmed that revised toll rates will take effect on January 1, with increases affecting a range of vehicles travelling across the bridge.

Car drivers will pay €2.40 per crossing, an increase of 10 cent on the current charge of €2.30.

The same 10 cent increase will also apply to motorcycles, buses and smaller lorries, with the new toll for buses rising to €4.30.

Larger commercial vehicles will face greater increases.

Heavy goods vehicles with two or three axles will see their toll rise by 20 cent, while those with four or more axles will pay an additional 30 cent per journey.

The changes mean higher costs for motorists and transport operators who regularly use the bridge, particularly those making multiple journeys each week.

The new toll rates will come into operation on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2027.
