Waterford Fire Service responded to almost 20 incidents during Halloween this year.

Providing an update to WLR on November 1st just after 10am, Chief Fire Officer Niall Curtin said that there were 19 incidents across their stations in the previous 24 hours.

Fourteen of these were bonfire/outdoor fire/Halloween related.

Meanwhile, Dublin Fire Brigade had its busiest Halloween night in 15 years last night.

It processed 1,620 calls.

585 of those were Dublin fire related, 669 were ambulance related, and 366 were Leinster regional fire calls.

A spokesperson says all crews are safe, with no injuries reported, however crews had to battle multiple house fires, car fires, serious traffic collisions, and medical emergencies.

Kildare Fire Services are appealing to the public for respect after a violent attack on first responders left one firefighter injured and an emergency engine out of service.

The crew came under attack when a group threw stones, rocks, and other projectiles at the vehicle, shattering a window and injuring a staff member. The damage forced the engine off the road for repairs during the peak Halloween rush.
