A popular Waterford city car park will close this evening as preparations get underway for the opening ceremony of the GAA World Games.

Waterside Car Park will be closed from 8pm on Sunday, July 12, until 7pm on Monday, July 13, to facilitate the event, which will officially welcome thousands of players and supporters from around the world to Waterford.

The GAA World Games will take place at the SETU Arena from Monday, July 13, with teams from across the globe competing over the following three days.

Waterford City and County Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and thanked motorists for their understanding.
