Plans have been submitted for a major new residential development in Waterford City, which would see 96 homes and a creche constructed in Kilcohan.
The proposed development, located on Killure Road, would include a mixture of houses and apartments, alongside childcare facilities and associated infrastructure.
According to the planning application, the development would consist of 56 two-storey houses and 40 apartments across two four-storey blocks.
A similar planning application was previously submitted for the same site in March 2025, proposing 91 residential units, while the latest plans seek to increase that number to 96 and include a new creche.
The houses would include 47 three-bedroom semi-detached homes, five four-bedroom semi-detached properties, two three-bedroom terraced houses and two two-bedroom terraced homes.
Meanwhile, the apartment element would comprise two four-storey blocks, each containing 20 residential units.
Each block would include four one-bedroom apartments, 13 two-bedroom apartments and three three-bedroom apartments.
A single-storey creche is also proposed as part of the development, providing childcare facilities for families living in the area.
The plans also provide for car parking, bicycle and bin storage, landscaping and associated site development works.
Access links to the development would be provided in connection with infrastructure granted under a previous planning application.
The application is subject to the planning process, with a decision due from Waterford City and County Council in December.
