
Two Waterford-based companies have been recognised at the BioPharmaChem Ireland Impact Awards 2026, celebrating innovation and excellence within Ireland’s life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors.
The awards were presented at the BioPharmaChem Ireland Impact Conference in Dublin, which brought together more than 430 industry leaders and stakeholders from across the country.
Waterford pharmaceutical giant Sanofi received the Sustainable BioPharmaChem Company of the Year Award for its commitment to sustainability and environmental performance at its manufacturing facility in the county.

Meanwhile, Waterford technology company Brightbeam AI picked up the Collaboration in BioPharmaChem Award for its work using artificial intelligence to support the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries.
BioPharmaChem Ireland says the awards highlight the continued growth, innovation and international success of Ireland’s pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.
Speaking after the awards, Sanofi’s Head of Product Supply Engineering and Maintenance, Eoin Lyons, said sustainability is embedded in how the company operates and innovates, while Brightbeam AI’s Shane Owens described the award as a recognition of collaboration and forward-thinking within Ireland’s life sciences sector.
The awards were supported by IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland and recognised excellence across seven industry categories.
