
Tributes have begun pouring in for a young Irishman who was suddenly killed in Australia on Monday.
Shane Irwin of Bocks Upper in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, tragically died ‘following an accident in Perth’, according to his RIP.ie death notice.
The notice said that ‘it is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Shane’, who is ‘predeceased by his sister Katie who died in infancy’.

It added: ‘Shane will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Bob and Helen, his brothers Cathal (Tegan), Aidan and Keith, his sister Lisa, his aunts, uncles, cousins, the extended McGuinness and Irwin families and his wide circle of friends here and in Australia.
‘May his fun-loving spirit rest in peace and may his cheeky smile never be forgotten.’
GAA club Crossmaglen Rangers, which is closely connected to Shane’s family, led the tributes to the tragic young man with a post on Facebook.

The club wrote: ‘Our deepest condolences to the Irwin and McGuinness families on the tragic loss of your beloved Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin and friend Shane. A number of cousins of Shane’s are current players.
‘You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this heartbreaking time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.’
Many more messages have poured in for Shane and his family, with mourners expressing their deep heartache.

One person shared: ‘So sad. Such a gorgeous young man. All any of us want is for our children to be safe and happy. God bless him. Praying for his dear parents and family. May God give you strength at this difficult time.’
Another said: ‘Please accept my sincere condolences on the tragic death of Shane your beloved son. I remember him from his childhood to turning into a lovely young man. Helen, Bob and his siblings, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. May Shane’s gentle soul Rest in eternal Peace’
A third added: ‘We are heartbroken for you all. We have no words to describe our pain – we absolutely loved Shane.. such a special young man! May God bless you, Helen, Bob and family.’
Yet another wrote: ‘Condolences to the family. Shane will be sadly missed in Perth, a true gentleman always had a smile. RIP brother taken too young.’
