Tirlán has officially opened its redeveloped CountryLife store in Dungarvan, following a major investment in its West Waterford branch.
The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Tirlán chairman Ger O’Brien, a West Waterford native, along with local representatives and members of the farming community.
The redeveloped store offers a range of products and services for farmers, including animal feed, fertiliser, veterinary medicines, dairy hygiene products and outdoor clothing.
The development also includes a new garden centre, which is expected to open next spring.
Speaking at the opening, Mr O’Brien highlighted the importance of investing in local branches and supporting farming communities. He said the Dungarvan development was part of a wider programme of improvements across the Tirlán CountryLife network.
The co-operative has been upgrading branches since becoming fully member-owned in 2022, with around ten stores having undergone similar developments.
Mr O’Brien also pointed to the branch’s location beside the Waterford Greenway, describing it as an important addition to the area.
The opening was attended by Waterford Mayor Liam Brazil, with tribute also paid to a former branch manager who recently retired after many years of service with the co-operative.
The redevelopment aims to provide farmers and customers in Dungarvan and the surrounding area with an improved range of products and facilities.
