21 TidyTowns groups across Waterford are to share €28,000 in funding.

The allocation was announced following the 2026 National TidyTowns Awards, with €1.5 million being provided to almost 1,000 groups nationwide.

The funding can be used to support preparations for the 2027 competition, as well as projects focused on sustainability and biodiversity.

Dungarvan and Tramore will each receive €3,000, while Dunmore East, Lismore and Portlaw have been awarded €2,000 each.

A further €1,000 has been allocated to Ardmore, Ballyduff Upper, Ballymacarbry, Bunmahon, Cappoquin, Cheekpoint and Faithlegg, Clashmore, Clonea/Power, Dunhill, Fenor, Kill, Kilmacthomas, Passage East and Crooke, Stradbally, Tallow and Villierstown.

Groups which entered the TidyTowns competition in 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible for grants of between €1,000 and €4,000.

Minister of State and Waterford TD John Cummins welcomed the allocation, saying the funding recognises the work carried out by volunteers in communities across the county.

‘The passion and dedication of TidyTowns volunteers is the embodiment of everything that is good in our communities,’ he said.

The latest allocation brings total Government funding provided to TidyTowns groups nationally since 2017 to €14 million.
