A teenage girl has died after being recovered from the water at Burrow Beach near Howth in north Dublin on Sunday.

Gardaí said they assisted the Coast Guard in a search operation at the beach.

There was a significant emergency response, including the deployment of a Coast Guard helicopter.

‘The body of a female juvenile teen was removed from the water at Burrow Beach by the Coast Guard.

‘The body has been removed from the scene,’ a garda spokesperson said.
