St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ballygunner is set to host two important community events this month, with local residents being invited to take part in a clean-up day ahead of the annual Cemetery Mass.

St. Joseph’s, St. Benildus’ and St. Mary’s Parish is calling on volunteers to help tidy St. Mary’s Cemetery on Saturday, June 13th, from 10am to 1pm. The community clean-up is being organised in preparation for the parish’s annual Cemetery Mass, which takes place on Thursday, June 18th at 7.30pm.

Parish organisers say all volunteers are welcome to lend a hand. Bags will be provided on the day, while those taking part are asked to bring their own gardening tools and equipment.

The annual Cemetery Mass is a longstanding tradition in the parish calendar, providing an opportunity for families and community members to gather, remember loved ones who have passed away, and pray together in the cemetery setting.

Organisers are encouraging people attending the evening Mass to dress warmly. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will also be available online.
