
Emergency services are currently at the scene of a single van collision on the Outer Ring Road just past the Broadcast Centre.
At approximately 8am this morning, April 22, a van overturned on the outbound lane on the approach towards the Broadcast Centre from the direction of University Hospital Waterford.
A male in his 30s was assessed at the scene, and was deemed to have no injuries.
Outer Ring Road Lane Closed
The National Ambulance Service were in attendance immediately after the collision.
Shortly after, two units of the Waterford City Fire Service attended the scene and closed the outbound lane towards the Broadcast Centre.
Update: As of 09:06am, Gardai are in attendance and there is a stop/go in operation allowing traffic to move from the direction of UHW towards the Outer Ring Road.
Traffic is building significantly from the Williamstown Roundabout towards St. John’s Park, as of 08:20am.
Backlogs have also been reported as far back as the Riverside Cottage on the Dunmore Road.
Additionally, traffic is at a standstill on John’s Hill.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take an alternative route, where possible.
It is expected the road will be cleared at approximately 09:30am.
