South East Technological University (SETU) is helping bring one of Europe’s major digital agriculture conferences to Ireland for the first time.

Synergy Days 2026 will take place at the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny on October 20th and 21st.

Walton Institute at SETU is part of the organising committee behind the event, which is expected to attract around 200 farmers, agri-tech companies, researchers, policymakers, investors and technology specialists from Ireland and across Europe.

The conference will focus on how digital innovation can be turned into practical solutions for farms and the wider agri-food sector.

Topics will include artificial intelligence, agricultural data, automation, digital platforms and the infrastructure needed to introduce new technologies at scale.

Synergy Days has previously been held in Prague, Lisbon, Thessaloniki, Barcelona and Rotterdam.

Hazel Peavoy, who represents Walton Institute and SETU TU Rise on the organising committee, said bringing the event to the South East gives farmers, businesses and researchers in the region the chance to engage directly with European networks working in digital agriculture.

The conference has also been recognised as an Associated Event of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.

An optional programme of agricultural field trips will take place on October 22nd.

Organisers say the event will also look at how new technology can move from research into practical use on farms.
