A historical Wexford syndicate have won Ireland’s first-ever All Cash Millionaire Scratch Card and have revealed the moment their win ‘hit’ them.
The group were among a cohort of lucky Lotto punters attending the Winner’s Room at Lotto HQ in recent weeks.
The group initially though they won a handy €50,000, but on further inspection realised their win was even greater.

One syndicate member revealed: ‘The syndicate lead jokingly told us we’d won €50,000, but as we looked at the Scratch Card, I remember saying, “There’s no €50,000 there, you’ve made a mistake. Look again!”
‘Then it hit us… we’ve won a million!’
The scratch card was purchased at Applegreen, Ramstown Lower, Gorey, Co Wexford, with the winnings going towards holidays and long-awaited home renovations.

In Louth, one man’s €5 All Cash Platinum Scratch Card, which was purchased in Spar in Tallanstown, Dundalk, revealed a landfall of €75,000.
His mum was the first person he told, and recalled how they ‘both just say looking over the Scratch Card, making sure.’
The financial win has led him to start thinking about travel plans, with the winner noting he had a few places he wanted to visit.

In Wexford, a man won the top prize of €50,000 in the €5 Wordplay Mystery Multiplier Scratch Card — which he had received as a gift from his mum.
‘I got the Scratch Card as a gift from my mother,’ he revealed, ‘I wouldn’t usually play this particular game, so I had to get a sheet of paper out to write down all the words to be certain I wasn’t seeing things.
‘I’ll be taking a trip around Ireland to celebrate — here’s hoping we’ll get the good weather!’
