
Three people have died in separate road crashes over the weekend, including two motorcyclists.
A motorcyclist in his 30s was killed following a collision with a jeep on the N20 at Castlewrixon, Ballyhea, County Cork, at around 8pm on Sunday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the jeep, a man in his 80s, was taken to Cork University Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
The N20 remains closed for a technical examination, and Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
The crash is the second fatal motorcycle collision this weekend, after a motorcyclist in his 50s died in a crash near Kilcock, County Kildare, on Saturday morning.
Separately, a man in his 20s died following a two car collision at Kinnego Cross, Ballymagan, County Donegal, shortly before 9.10pm on Saturday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post mortem examination will take place.
An adult male passenger in the first car, also in his 20s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
The driver of the second car, a man in his late teens, and his female passenger, also in her late teens, were also taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The road remains closed for a forensic collision examination, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the road crashes, or who may have camera or dashcam footage, to contact them.
