Plumbers are the most searched-for tradespeople in Waterford, according to new research examining online demand across the county.
Research by field-service management company Fieldmotion found searches relating to plumbers in Waterford average around 760 per month.
Electricians came second with approximately 640 monthly searches, followed by pest control services on 520.
The research analysed three years of Google search data, covering January 2023 to December 2025.
High Demand for Trades
Across all of the trades examined, Waterford recorded around 2,760 searches per month.
According to the research, this was among the highest totals recorded nationally, behind only Dublin and Cork.
When adjusted for population, plumbing generated around 597 searches per 100,000 people in Waterford.
The single most popular search term was ‘plumbers Waterford‘, with an estimated 450 searches each month, followed by ‘electricians Waterford’ at 340.
Fieldmotion Managing Director Jerome Finnegan said the figures point towards continued opportunities for people considering careers in skilled trades.
‘Behind every one of these searches is a homeowner or business trying to find a good tradesperson, often in a hurry,’ he said.
‘With another Leaving Cert class weighing up their options, these numbers are a reminder that the trades offer great career opportunities, with demand that isn’t going anywhere.’
The study used Google Keyword Planner and Google Trends data across all 26 counties, examining search terms across nine different trade categories.
