Major delays are being reported on the N25 approaching Kilmeaden, with traffic queues stretching for around 4km.
Motorists are facing lengthy waiting times as a stop-go system is in operation in the area.
Waterford City and County Council says a traffic alert remains in place for the N25 at Ballyduff West, where stop-go roadworks are expected to continue until December 4th to facilitate junction improvement works, with motorists warned to expect delays.
A separate notice is also in place for the N25 hard shoulder west of Carroll’s Cross, which is scheduled to be closed from 8am to 6pm between November 4th and 6th to allow for verge-cutting works.
Drivers are being advised to expect delays when travelling along the route and to allow additional time for their journeys.
