One extremely lucky Irish Lotto player has become a multi-millionaire after landing Saturday night’s jackpot prize.

However, the exact location of the winning ticket has not been revealed and the player has yet to claim their €8.7million fortune.

The big winner matched all six numbers plus the bonus, with the final combination being 1, 7, 27, 28, 34, 42 and bonus number 26.

National Lottery officials confirmed the €8,726,418 winner is among over 101,000 players who secured prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws on Saturday.

18 players matched five numbers to win €1,803 each in the main draw, with 44 others matching four numbers and the bonus to land €186 each.

While there were no winners of the €1million Lotto Plus 1 top prize or the €250,000 Lotto Plus 2 jackpot, one Lotto Plus 1 draw player took home €5,000.

Meanwhile, two players in Lotto Plus 2 won €2,500 each for matching five numbers with the bonus.

In the Lotto raffle draw, 88 players each won €500 with the winning number – 2431.

The National Lottery has appealed for players to check their numbers carefully, with the hunt for Ireland’s new multi-millionaire underway.

Officials have advised the jackpot winner to contact the prize claims team, with arrangements in place for them to collect their massive fortune.

A spokesperson said: ‘There was one winner of the Lotto jackpot. In total, over 101,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws.’

The May Bank Holiday weekend has proved to be a lucky one, with another EuroMillions player securing €500,000.

Just a week after a Dublin punter took home half a million in the EuroMillions Plus draw on April 25, another big prize was won in Limerick.

The National Lottery confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased on Wednesday, April 29, at Tesco in the Crescent Shopping Centre, Dooradoyle, Co Limerick.

The winning numbers from the Friday, May 1, EuroMillions Plus draw were 12, 37, 38, 49, 50.
