Nearly ten years after Molly Martens was convicted of killing Irish dad of two, Jason Corbett, the 42-year-old has welcomed her first child.

Originally from Limerick, Jason was killed at his home in North Carolina in 2015, with his children, Jack and Sarah, returning to live in Ireland weeks later.

Since leaving prison in June 2024 after an appeal, Molly has stayed out of the spotlight and has a new partner with whom she is trying to build a new life.

In August, photos emerged of Molly holding her growing bump, with reports suggesting she’s due to welcome her first child in November.

Since then, one Irish publication has revealed that Molly and her partner Josh Parrott have welcomed a son, naming him Thomas Carter.

The Limerick father-of-two’s wife and Sarah’s stepmother, Molly Martens, and her father, 76-year-old Tom, a former FBI agent, were found guilty of second-degree murder in 2017 after facing trial before their convictions were overturned in November 2023.

In June 2024, they were released from a North Carolina prison having served four years and three months. They continue to insist they acted in self-defence.

When it was revealed that Molly was expecting, Jason’s children, Sarah and Jack, spoke publicly about it.

Sarah said, ‘Both Jack and I have spoken publicly, and before the court, about the coercive control, manipulation and abuse we experienced as children… I have spent years trying to understand and find words for what we experienced, and I can’t separate this news from that history.’

Jack, 21, also shared a statement with the Daily Mail, saying that he can ‘only hope that this child is safe and that if concerns are raised, they are listened to and acted upon…

‘I have zero interest in Molly Martens’ life. But where there is a child involved – I can only hope they are born healthy and grow up safe, protected from ever experiencing the kind of harm Sarah and I lived through.

‘… I am still recovering, 11 years on, from the abuse my sister and I endured for years. It broke me. I will never fully heal.’
