Local pride will take centre stage this November as Loren Flynn (22) from Waterford City prepares to fly the flag for County Waterford at the glittering Miss Ireland 2026 Grand Final, taking place on Saturday, 21 November, at The Fairways Hotel, Dundalk.

Loren is a recent graduate of SETU Waterford, where she achieved her BA (Hons) in Psychology, and she now works as an Assistant Support Worker, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Her ongoing cardiac health journey has shaped her both personally and professionally. “Completing my final year of college while managing health difficulties was challenging, requiring resilience, determination and self-belief. Throughout this experience, I knew there had to be a bright light amongst the difficult days. I wanted to turn my personal challenges into something meaningful and empowering, not only for myself but for others facing similar circumstances. This inspired me to become a Miss Ireland finalist, stepping outside my comfort zone to raise awareness of women’s cardiac health, mental health and the impact of loneliness. Even when surrounded by loving family, health difficulties can leave you feeling isolated, and I want others to know they are not alone.” She said

Loren is also passionate about advocating for Samaritans and raising awareness of the resources available to those experiencing mental health difficulties or loneliness. Looking ahead, she hopes to use her Miss Ireland platform to encourage open conversations, break down stigma and promote greater understanding of the connection between physical and mental health.  Her long-term ambition is to create a supportive space for people navigating health challenges, where emotional wellbeing is valued alongside physical care.

Loren is among an inspiring line-up of young women from across the country competing for one of Ireland’s most prestigious titles, with the chance to wear the coveted Miss Ireland crown and represent her country on the world stage in a competition that celebrates confidence, ambition, individuality and achievement.

Now celebrating its 78th year, Miss Ireland will bring together this year’s finalists, former titleholders, celebrities and special guests for a spectacular evening of glamour, entertainment and celebration as the next generation of Irish ambassadors steps into the spotlight. Miss Ireland 2026 is proudly sponsored by EMS Copiers, Kore Beauty, FX Makeup Academy, Simply Divine, mesoskinline, Dolan Padel Courts Ireland, LovePadel.ie, Robert Chambers and Choicley App.

The Miss Ireland 2026 Grand Final on Saturday, 21 November, at The Fairways Hotel, Dundalk, promises a dazzling evening of performances, excitement and anticipation, culminating in the crowning of Miss Ireland 2026 by reigning titleholder Caoimhe Kenny, who represented Ireland for five weeks in Vietnam earlier this year.
