There’s been plenty of changeable weather conditions in recent weeks, though temperatures have remained in the late teens and early 20s.

Met Éireann have shared the forecast for the coming week, revealing whether the Irish public can expect another heatwave.

The forecaster predicts further ‘mixed conditions generally with rain or showers at times but dry intervals too.’

They add that temperatures are set to remain in the high teens in the northwest to low or mid-twenties in the south and east.

So while a heatwave isn’t on the cards for the coming week, conditions are still somewhat decent.

On Monday, the forecast says temperatures will be between 17 and 19 degrees in west Connacht and north Ulster, reaching up to 25 degrees elsewhere.

The first day of the week will be warm and humid with sunny spells in the south, though conditions are expected to turn wet on Monday night.

Tuesday will see a ‘fair amount of cloud and scattered showers’ with sunny spells developing later in the day, while Tuesday night will be mainly dry with just some showers in the west and northwest.

These are expected to turn heavier by Wednesday morning, with showers in the west and northwest spreading to all areas.

Thursday will be cooler and fresher, with sunny spells and scattered showers while Friday will see further dry weather with just the occasional scattered shower.

Met Éireann say current indications suggest more of the same for the weekend, with predominantly dry conditions and just a few showers.

On the Extended Forecast, it is expected that next week will see generally mild and changeable conditions as the transition from summer to autumn takes place.
