A man in his 80s has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Dungarvan, County Waterford.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N25 shortly after 8.30pm lastnight (Wedneasday).

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 80s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported following the incident.

Gardaí have confirmed that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing.
