JJ Kavanagh has rejected claims circulating on social media about two of its coaches seen travelling through Dublin with a Garda escort.

A video shared online earlier this week appeared to show two JJ Kavanagh coaches travelling through the capital accompanied by Gardaí.

In the footage, a person filming the coaches can be heard claiming they were carrying immigrants to hotels.

The video was subsequently reposted by a number of accounts on X, with similar claims made about who was travelling on board.

However, JJ Kavanagh has said the claims are entirely untrue and described them as misinformation.

The company said the coaches were in fact transporting EU dignitaries as part of its role providing transport for Ireland’s EU Presidency.

In a statement, JJ Kavanagh said: “We are aware of a video circulating online which makes claims that are entirely untrue and constitute misinformation.

“To correct the record: the JJ Kavanagh coaches shown were transporting EU dignitaries in our capacity as the preferred transport supplier for Ireland’s EU Presidency.

“We have no further comment to make.”
