Conditions are still set to be mixed for the country this week, but temperatures will be milder than usual, Met Éireann has said.
The autumnal weather came back with a vengeance earlier this week, with parts of the country battered by heavy wind and rain. It was also a cold one, as temperatures plummeted to lows of 5C-6C at times.
While Met Éireann has warned that heavy rain and winds are set to return from next week, temperatures are still expected to be mild for mid-October — as the mercury reaches the high teens.

Looking to the weather for Saturday, Met Éireann has forecast that it will be a bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers, mainly across the north and west at first before spreading southeastwards across the country through the morning and afternoon. The best of the dry weather will be toward the south, as sunny spells turn hazy. Highest temperatures of 10C to 14C.
It will be chilly on Saturday night, but it’ll be mainly dry with clear spells and some mist and fog patches. Cloud will push in across the southwest overnight, as outbreaks of rain and drizzle develop by morning. Lowest temperatures of just 3C to 7C.
It will be dry with sunny spells for most on Sunday, but overcast skies will bring about rain, drizzle and mist over Munster which will then spread northeastwards through the day. Ulster will remain dry, while it will be milder as highest temperatures reach 12C to 16C.

Sunday night will remain cloudy with outbreaks of patchy rain, drizzle and mist that will continue to spread northeastwards through the night. It will be far milder than Saturday night, however, as lowest temperatures will be 10C to 13C.
The week will kick off as cloudy on Monday, before any lingering rain and drizzle clears the northwest through the morning.
A brief spell of drier and brighter weather will follow before another spell of rain and drizzle spreads from the southeast. Warm, however, as highest temperatures reach 16C to 19C.

Monday night will be mostly cloudy at first, as rain or drizzle clears eastward through the night. Clear spells following from the west, and lowest temperatures not falling below 10C to 14C.
Tuesday will see sunny spells and scattered showers, heaviest and most frequent over Ulster, easing in all areas in the evening. Warm again, however, as highest temperatures are forecast to hover around 14C to 18C.
Current indications suggest that Wednesday will be windy but mostly dry, with good spells of sunshine although hazy at times. Some showers may develop throughout the afternoon, but highest temperatures will remain around 15C to 18C.
