A substantial number of stolen electronic devices have been recovered by Gardaí from Store Street following a targeted operation in the Dublin 1 area.
The recovery operation was carried out by Gardaí from Store Street Community Engagement and members of the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB).
An investigation commenced in July 2026, when Gardaí at Store Street traced a stolen mobile phone to a premises in the Dublin city centre area.
A statement from the force confirmed that they began inquiries in conjunction with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB).
On Thursday, August 20, investigating Gardaí carried out a planned search of a business premises in Dublin city centre.
The operation resulted in the recovery of 36 laptops and 40 mobile phones.
Gardaí said all electronic devices that were recovered are currently undergoing technical examination, and it is hoped they can all be returned to their rightful owners.
No arrests have been made to date, however, investigations remain ongoing.
Gardaí have issued an appeal to anyone who had phones or electriconic devices stolen to contact them.
They said: ‘If your mobile phone is stolen, An Garda Síochána advises you to immediately contact your service provider to block your SIM and 15-digit IMEI number and report the theft to your local Garda station with your phone details to aid potential recovery.’
It comes not long after a separate operation resulted in the seizure of an estimated €100,000 of cocaine.
The operation targeted an organised crime group and was carried out between August 14 and 16 in the Sligo area.
Gardaí stopped and searched two vehicles, one in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, and another in Keadue, Co. Roscommon.
Suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €100,000 was seized, while a man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s were arrested.
Both are being detained at a Garda station in the North Western Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
