Gardaí have launched an investigation after a man’s body was found in Cork.
It is understood that the body of a man was found on a golf course in Macroom earlier today.
It was quickly determined that the man was deceased, and Gardaí sealed off the area and launched an investigation.

The man’s body was found at Macroom Golf Club, just outside the Cork town, at 9:30 am this morning by a man out walking.
Emergency services were quickly alerted, and the man was then pronounced dead at the scene.
The man, who has yet to be formally identified, is believed to be in his 20s and from the area.
Gardaí have revealed that the man’s body remains at the scene, which is being preserved for an examination.

They have also stressed that it remains too early to tell if the man’s death was related in any way to foul play.
It is understood that a post-mortem examination will now determine the course of the investigation into his death.
The area where the body was found sits just behind the ground of Macroom GAA, around 500 metres from the town centre, according to the Irish Times.
Gardaí will now begin inquiries in the area to try to establish when the man was last seen alive. They have also begun combing through CCTV footage from around Macroom town.
An Garda Síochána is appealing for anyone with information, including dash cam footage from the area around the time of the discovery, to contact them immediately.
This appeal extends to anyone who noticed anything unusual around Macroom Golf Club, Macroom GAA Club, or the town centre between the hours of 6 pm on Thursday and 9:30 pm on Friday.
