Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault which occurred on a bus travelling from Waterford to Tramore in 2024.

The alleged incident occured on October 16th that year and an appeal was made on RTÉ’s ‘Crimecall’ this week.

Gardaí have asked that any information is made available to them and said they are aware of content on social media that purports to idenitfy the suspect.

However, nothing in that content has been substantiated at this time.

A statement said: “An Garda Síochána is aware of the propensity for misinformation and disinformation to circulate online and urges the public to independently verify any information they are reading on social media or messaging apps.
