The funeral details for a young mother who passed away following a rickshaw accident in Dublin have been announced.
Danielle O’Keane. 37, had entered a rickshaw with her friends following a Westlife concert in the 3 Arena on September 27. Just seconds into their journey, however, the rickshaw crashed, and the friends fell out. Ms O’Keane was struck by a car immediately after she fell out, suffering catastrophic injuries.
It emerged that Ms O’Keane suffered a life ending brain injury following the tragedy, and she passed away in Dublin’s Mater Hospital on Thursday, October 1.

Ms O’Keane, originally from Newry in Co Down, is survived by her husband Dave, and their two sons. Her death notice reads that she is the beloved daughter of Michael and Pauline, dear sister of Barry and her twin Sean.
Tributes have poured in for Ms O’Keane following the tragedy, her friends remembering her as a ‘brilliant girl.’
‘The saddest possible outcome for this brilliant girl I am honoured to have known and worked with. Strength and love to Dave, her wee babies and entire family circle at this incredibly hard unimaginable time,’ one wrote, while another added: ‘The most beautiful girl and devoted mum. I am just so sorry to hear this awful news. I will miss Danielle’s warm smile and chat at the school gates.’

‘It is hard to put into words. Danielle was one of the friendliest and kindest people,’ another added. ‘It was a pleasure working with you all those years ago.’
Ms O’Keane will be reposing at her parents’ home on 25 Crohill Road, Newry, BT34 2LF on Wednesday (October 7) and Thursday (October 8) from 1pm to 9pm on each day. There will be a one-way system along Crohill Road, entering from Hilltown Road and exiting via Benagh Road. House private on the morning of the funeral.
Mass for Ms O’Keane will take place on Friday, October 9 at 2.30pm in St Joseph’s Church, Sheeptown. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Ms O’Keane’s death notice adds that she is ‘deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, children, parents, brothers, sisters in law, brothers in law, mother in law Dolores, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, family circle and friends.’
Westlife paid tribute to Ms O’Keane following the tragedy during their show in Birmingham on October 3, dedicating Flying Without Wings and You Raise Me Up to the young mum.
