RTÉ Confirms Ireland Will Not Participate in 2027 Eurovision
Sep 17, 26

RTÉ has confirmed that Ireland will not participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, and will not broadcast the competition.
The broadcaster says its position remains unchanged due to what it describes as the “appalling and ongoing loss of lives in Gaza” and the continuing humanitarian crisis there.
RTÉ says it also remains “deeply concerned” about the continued denial of independent access to international journalists to Gaza.
Ireland also did not take part in this year’s Eurovision, with RTÉ withdrawing from the 2026 contest and declining to broadcast it. The decision means Ireland will now miss the competition for a second consecutive year.
