Two long-serving volunteers with Dunmore East Coast Guard have been honoured for their outstanding commitment to the local community.

At a recent training session, Coast Guard Unit Support Manager (CUSM) Dermot Hickey visited the station to present 30 Year Service Medals to volunteer Derek Barrett and volunteer Joanne Carroll.

The medals recognise three decades of exceptional dedication and selfless service, reflecting countless hours spent responding to emergencies, supporting search and rescue operations, and helping to keep coastal communities safe.

The presentation was attended by fellow volunteers, who gathered to celebrate the significant milestone and acknowledge the commitment shown by both recipients throughout their years of service.
