Offshore wind represents a significant emerging economic opportunity for the South East, with the potential to drive investment, new supply chains, infrastructure development, skills and employment across the region.
Powering the South East: Offshore Wind & Regional Opportunity, hosted by Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber, will bring together Government, national agencies, energy and infrastructure leaders, industry, education providers and businesses to explore what is coming – and how the South East can prepare to benefit.
It takes place on Friday October 9th at The Park Hotel, Dungarvan.
The focus is firmly on regional opportunity and business readiness: understanding what will be needed, where businesses could fit into the developing offshore wind ecosystem, and what we need to do now to ensure the South East is ready.
The conference programme will bring national expertise together with regional opportunity, covering:
National Policy & Vision – Ireland’s offshore wind ambitions and what happens next.
From Generation to Grid – the infrastructure required to turn offshore renewable energy ambition into reality.
Regional Investment & Opportunity – what the development of offshore wind could mean for businesses, employment and the wider South East economy.
Supply Chain & Business Opportunity – where businesses could participate, directly and indirectly, and why preparing early matters.
Infrastructure & Port Readiness – preparing the region to support a growing offshore energy sector.
Skills & Future Workforce – the education, training and capabilities needed to build regional expertise.
The conference is proudly supported by ESB, Tonn Nua and EirGrid and will be officially opened by Minister Timmy Dooley, Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Environment and Energy.
