The Linear Park Playground in Dungarvan has reopened following a €200,000 upgrade.

The playground at Fair Lane Park reopened on Monday, October 5, following improvement works to replace the existing timber play units and install new equipment and safety surfacing.

The works were carried out by Browne Brothers, with all fencing now removed following their completion.

The upgraded playground includes a new zip-line, multi-play unit, four-seater seesaw and an in-ground trampoline.

An inclusive spinning cup and roundabout have also been installed, providing more opportunities for children of different abilities to play together, along with a sheep rocker.

Waterford City and County Council thanked the public for their patience while the works were underway and welcomed children and families back to the upgraded playground.

Following the completion of the works in Dungarvan, upgrades are set to begin at Walton Park Playground.

These works will include the installation of a new senior mega multi-play unit, a junior multi-play unit and a 4.5-metre-high space net.

Further playground upgrade works in An Rinn and Ardmore are also scheduled to take place later in the autumn.
